Holiday Cinnamon Meatballs for Dogs Recipe

 

Cinnamon Meatballs for Dogs 

Here is a meatball recipe for your dog with warming cinnamon for those dogs affected by cold damp winter days. An extra special treat for the holidays.

NOTE: Please do not add onion to this recipe as onion is toxic for dogs. 

·         1/2 pound of free range/organic ground chicken or turkey 

·         1/4 cup of shredded carrots (optional) 

·         3 tablespoons of fresh or dried parsley (great for dog breath) 

·         1 teaspoon of salt 

·         1/8 cup of parmesan cheese 

·         1 egg (unless your dog is allergic to chicken!) 

·         1 tablespoon of cinnamon 

Heat oven to 375. Line a large baking sheet with non-stick foil. Combine all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix until blended. 

Form into meatballs and bake for about 20-25 minutes. 

Allow to cool before serving to your dog!

 Quan Yin’s Immunity Stew

From the book BARKOPAEDIA: The Canine Book of Knowledge 

This is the recipe we cooked for our dog who has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on her leg. She was allergic to rice; however, you could cook organic white rice or brown and add it to this mixture. White basmati is better for dogs with loose stools. Brown rice is more warming and best used in winter or dogs prone to constipation.


1 package of ground organic free-range no hormones turkey.

(Our dog is allergic to chicken. )
You can use chicken but make sure it is organic, free range and hormone free. Most chicken and beef sold in grocery stores have been injected with estrogen and antibiotics to make them plumper.
Estrogen is fertilizer for the Cancer.

Steam or sauté in water a handful of shredded carrots, sweet potato, celery and parsley. Broccoli gives her gas, so we do not add that!

When the vegetables are tender, add the turkey with about a ½ cup of filtered water and cook for about 20 minutes. Keep stirring.

Allow to cool. Or heat a normal meal portion in the microwave for about 30 sections.

When serving this we also add a small portion of canned green beans with a tad of the juice so her mushroom powder, Arnica, Yunnan Bai Yao, Astragalus and any other medication or herbs can be disguised in the meal. Yummo!

She was rewarded with  a large organic carrot as a treat every day too. Great for stinky dog breath, good for her teeth and Vitamin A for her eyes.

The  Misery Journal is a tool to discover patterns in your aches and pains. Many types of pain have patterns when we look at the big picture. Does it hurt at 3am every morning? Does it hurt more with cold weather, or hot weather? Does movement make it worse? Are there foods that make it worse? These and many similar patterns to be found in our daily lives can give us, and your doctor, a much better idea of what's going on with you. 

There are several factors which cause pain. Besides the common causes such as illness or injury, other reasons can be related to things such as weather conditions, food allergies, alcohol consumption, stress, various body positions, strenuous exercise, hormonal cycles and more. 

For instance, you may notice that your arthritic knees hurt more during hot damp weather and using an ice pack helps relieve it. Maybe your neck and back pain are worse after eating a large meal of pasta smothered with tomato sauce and bread. Gluten and tomato can both be a food trigger that exacerbates pain. Having a glass of wine with sulfites may cause flare ups. Bending or sitting the wrong way could set off a week of laying on the couch with a heating pad. Your neuropathy may flare up during cold or windy weather. Women may experience more pain during ovulation or during menses. All these puzzle pieces may add up eventually. 

By tracking your pain level, area of the body that experiences along with other various influences you and your healthcare provider may determine a specific approach to managing and relieving it. These revelations may also give you insight on things to avoid, use with caution or inspire you to be aware of conditions that may exacerbate your pain so that you can be prepared. If you know that pain is going to strike after that big pasta meal you now have the choice to avoid it, suffer through it or find a natural remedy to ease the symptoms afterwards! 

This journal may be used as a personal diary or may be shared with your healthcare practitioner.
