Quan Yin on her cooling mat

Happy August! it is hot and oh so humid here in New England right now.

During these brutally hot muggy days, Quan Yin lays on her cooling mat. Our cat Nubi juan Kenobi has his own mat too. You can find these at most pet stores and online.

And an added bonus these are great for all women who burst into flames with hot flashes at night!

Calming Aid for Dogs

I found this wonderful calming aid for dogs and cats by accident while shopping on Vitacost. Our dog Quan Yin has been having some anxiety issues about her hot spot that she cannot stop licking. We have had to keep a boo boo collar on her most of the day since the hot spot is on her foot. These Quiet Moment treats have definitely helped at night keep her calm and peaceful. I also use these for my 17 year old cat who sometimes gets anxious at night. These are not something to use everyday. I do not want my animals to be dependent on them.

Quan Yin had to go to the vet a few weeks ago as it was getting worse due to her licking. (We had a different boo boo collar that was not big enough and she was able to get to the paw.) Antibiotic shot and another injection to stop the itching seemed to help.

Since then, she now has a bigger elizabethan collar which she hates. I have been using some Chinese Herbs along with colloidal silver and a soothing herbal balm
Furry Friend Skin Smoother  made by an acupuncturist in Ipswich MA. http://www.emilyskinsoothers.com

I have also been doing some laser on her paw. It is finally starting to heal! If we can just keep the collar on for a few more days i think the hot spot will finally disappear and we will all be much happier!

We are now accepting new dog and cat patients in the Beverly MA, Peabody MA and Salem MA area.
